چکیده

Abstract Instrumental data from the pre–Industrial Revolution period are important to understand climate change. In this paper, observations made by French missionary J. Amiot in present-day central Beijing during 1757–62 were processed and analyzed. The represent earliest continuous dataset of meteorological records found China that have been digitized recently. Comparisons between annual temperature range extreme values with modern showed read at approximately 0800 1500 local solar time (LST) a well-ventilated outdoor site. daily maximum, minimum, mean temperatures (T-max, T-min, T-mean, respectively) determined examining relationship LST T-max, T-mean reference series. Nearly 260 years ago, Beijing’s was typical an inland temperate monsoon zone T-min being 11.5°, 17.8°, 6.1°C, respectively; further, did not vary considerably 1951–1980 temperatures, but differed evidently compared relatively recent decades (1981–2020). difference larger than magnitudes global regional changes. Thus, warming since urban areas has dominantly occurred over last four decades. Uncertainties related thermometer observational conditions ago interpolation method used also discussed paper.

Highest Brightness Temperature Observed in the Universe

Giant radio pulses of the millisecond pulsar B1937+21 were recorded with the S2 VLBI system at 1.65 GHz with NASA/JPL’s 70-m radio telescope at Tidbinbilla, Australia. These pulses have been observed as strong as 65 000 Jy with widths ≤ 15 ns, corresponding to a brightness temperature Tb ≥ 5 · 10 39 K, the highest observed in the universe. The vast majority of these pulses occur in a 5.8 μs and...

Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains of the Beijing genotype are rarely observed in tuberculosis patients in South America.

The frequency of the Beijing genotype of Mycobacterium tuberculosis as a cause of tuberculosis (TB) in South America was determined by analyzing genotypes of strains isolated from patients that had been diagnosed with the disease between 1997 and 2003 in seven countries of the subcontinent. In total, 19 of the 1,202 (1.6%) TB cases carried Beijing isolates, including 11 of the 185 patients from...

Land Surface Temperature Variation and Major Factors in Beijing, China

Land surface temperature (LST) is a significant parameter in urban environmental analysis. Current research mainly focuses on the impact of land-use and land-cover (LULC) on LST. Seldom has research examined LST variations based on the integration of biophysical and demographic variables, especially for a rapidly developing city such as Beijing, China. This study combines the techniques of remo...

Stationary determinism in Observed Time Series: the earth’s surface temperature

In this work we address the feasibility of estimating and isolating the stationary and deterministic content of observational time series, Ots, which in general have very limited characteristics. In particular, we study the valuable earth’s surface mean temperature time series, Tts, by applying several treatments intended to isolate the stationary and deterministic content. We give particular a...
